Cycling in and around Weiz
The region around Weiz, at the heart of the hilly landscapes of Styria, is characterised by its fascinating setting between the Thermenland thermal spa region and the Almenland region with a wide range of cultural sights and excursions on offer – not forgetting plenty of culinary specialities.
Sport and leisure enthusiasts can explore the region by bike along one of our many cycle paths. An oasis of relaxation and recuperation for anyone seeking rest or fun and fitness for all the family.

14 well-signposted trails and a network of 100 kilometres of running routes are just perfect for beginners, amateurs, families and professionals. And what‘s more – you can find the exact amount of kilometres you’ve run on signs positioned alongside the routes!!
The Weiz Siemens Energy Run will be starting again in June in the centre of Weiz. A unique running event – after all, the Siemens Energy Run includes the largest kids’ run and backwards run in Austria – it has a fantastic flair to it and a whole host of different activities ranging from the company run right up to the individual running event!

Cycling in and around St. Ruprecht
You can also explore St. Ruprecht by bike, even if you do not have your own bike. Whatever your age and ability – whether you want a street bike or mountain bike and whether you are an amateur cyclist or a social biker, the cycle tracks in the surrounding area offer something to suit everyone. The Raabtal cycle track R 11 (Weiz - Jennersdorf) leads directly through St. Ruprecht. The popular ‘Pedelecs’ can be hired from the municipal office of this community at the heart of the energy region of Weiz-Gleisdorf.
Running in St. Ruprecht
St. Ruprecht is a real paradise for runners. The numerous cycle tracks for all difficulty levels are well labelled. The amateur track (5 km) is a pleasant route and is flat throughout. The experiences track (8 km) is somewhat more challenging and the 11 km fitness track will push runners in any age group. The network of running tracks is maintained by members of the FC-Donald sports club (running section). The main activity undertaken by this section is the weekly slow running meeting from the start of April to the end of September. The runners meet every Wednesday at 18.30 at the club house on Quellenstrasse. The runners walk or run for an hour along the fantastic running tracks around St. Ruprecht. There are 5 different supervised groups from young children to experienced runners.
