Nordic Walking in the region Weiz - St. Ruprecht
Nordic walking is possible on virtually all of the footpaths and running tracks in and around Weiz - St. Ruprecht. You can obtain the map for the running tracks and footpaths from your accommodation establishment or from the Service Centre for Tourism and City Marketing in Weiz.
In St. Ruprecht, the FC Donald sports club has founded a section dedicated to ‘walkers’. Some 25 walkers (mainly OAPs) gather every week for a walk – and plenty of social time!
Walking sticks can be hired from the Garten-Hotel Ochensberger.
Running tracks and footpaths are open all year round.
The walkers meet every Wednesday at 18:30 in the car park of the Landhotel-Locker.

Cross-country in East Styria
Cross-country in St. Ruprecht
The 4 km long cross-country ‘Energy’ trail runs through some magnificent unspoilt landscapes along the river Raab. The official starting point is in St.Ruprecht at the Raab bridge in Winterdorf. To the South, you can also start out in Ludersdorf (Freibergstrasse). Those with insider knowledge of the track may start 2 km North in the area to the South of the St. Ruprecht kindergarten (at the Fünfinger-Ring or on the Raabfeldgasse).
The route is cleared by machine according to the snow conditions. Parking is available at the start and finish points – all signposted. You can enjoy cross-country from 08.00 to dusk every day.

Cross-country in Teichalm - Sommeralm area
Skating and classic cross-country – easily accessible!
The trails range from easy to medium difficulty.
They have a classic double width and come complete with a skating track.
Bärnschütz cross-country trail: (skating)
A challenging cross-country route leading towards the Zechner Moor, easy trail 3.5 km, runs back along the same route.
Sommeralm cross-country trail: (skating, classic)
Teichalmsee to the Holdahütt’n, easy trail: 7.5 km
Hochmoor cross-country trail: (skating, classic)
Circular route Teichalmsee via the Gasthof Angerwirt, length of tour: 5 km
Variation to the Gasthaus Holzmeister and back, length of tour: 10 km
Heulantsch cross-country trail – Sonnen cross-country trail: (only skating in parts)
Teichalmsee to the Harrerhütte and back at the foot of the Heulantsch, length of tour: 7 km
