East Styria

East Styria comprises a wide range of different landscapes and cultural features from the 1700 m Hochlantsch and Hochwechsel to the Pannonian plain. East Styria is a landscape full of harmony, beauty and tranquillity. Hundreds of years of history and culture have shaped this landscape along with the people who cultivate the fertile fields and gardens in harmony with nature.

Gentle footpaths criss-cross the land between the Almenland region and the thermal spa region of Bad Waltersdorf while cycling trails and bridleways link the Pöllauer Tal Nature Park, the Apfelland region around the Stubenberg lake, the ‘energy donating villages’ in the Joglland region, the Hartbergerland area, the energy region of Weiz-Gleisdorf and the Wechselland area. There are plenty of friendly stop-off points along the way: wine taverns, guesthouses and gourmet restaurants all offer regional produce at a sensible price.
